Description:
Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial statements. Responsibilities also include analyzing trends, costs, revenue, financial liabilities, and liabilities to predict future income and expenses. Report the organization’s finances to management and provide suggestions on the use of resources, tax strategies and assumptions underlying the budget forecasts.
May require a bachelor’s degree in specialty area and 2-4 years experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and achieve goals. Perform a variety of tasks. Work under general supervision. A certain amount of creativity and latitude is needed. Usually report to a supervisor or manager.
Responsibilities:
Prepare asset, liability and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information
Document financial transactions by entering account information
Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options
Summarize the current financial status by gathering information; preparation of balance sheet, profit and loss account and other reports
Motivate financial transactions by auditing documents
Maintain accounting controls by formulating and recommending policies and procedures
Guide accountants by coordinating accounting activities and answering questions
Reconcile financial differences by collecting and analyzing account information
Secure financial information by completing database backup
Verify, assign, place and reconcile transactions
Compile flawless accounting reports and present their results
Analyze financial information and summarize the financial status
Provides technical support and management advice
Review and recommend making changes to accounting systems and procedures
Participate in the preparation of financial standards and in the forecasting process
Provide input into the department’s goal setting process
Prepare financial statements and prepare the budget according to schedule
Conduct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
Plan, give work and evaluate staff’s work
Supports end of month and end of year
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Communicate effectively with customers
Contribute to a strong customer relationship through positive interactions with customer staff
Communicate with manager and / or director about job status and client issues that arise
