Job Description

Qualification needed for the role:

• RSP -Registered Safety Professional
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Oil & Gas Terminal or Process facility.
• Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH)
• Certificate Engineering or Equivalent
• Grad IOSH

HSE officers shall be knowledgeable in specific relevant safety techniques and have a working knowledge of the legal and contractual HSE requirements that must be met. They must have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the Contractor's organization. All HSE officers shall demonstrate competence in the following areas:

• Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English
• Ability to conduct HSE audits and chair HSE meetings with subcontractors
• Training ability in incident prevention
• Ability to conduct incident investigations and identify underlying causes
• Knowledge of health requirements, rules and regulations, and ability to monitor compliance
• Knowledge of environmental requirements, rules and regulations and ability to monitor compliance and identify ways of reducing environmental impact
• Be fully conversant with techniques used in the management of hazards and advising on suitable measures which can be used for preventing and ultimately recovering from accident situations
• Be able to develop and facilitate implementation of Contract HSE Plans

HSE officers shall be required to attend at least some of the following or equivalent of approved HSE related courses:

• Hydrogen Sulfide(H2S) & Breathing Apparatus
• training(mandatory)
• Permit-to-work Course
• Job Hazard Analysis
• Hazard Management Training
• Summary incident investigation
• Detailed incident investigation
• JOSH Managing Safely
• NEBOSH General Safety Training
• First-Aid Course
• Environmental Management course
• Environmental Awareness Course
• Waste Management Course
