Receptionist Jobs In Dubai: Careers Information | Jobs & Vacancies 2022

Every office or hotel must have a receptionist. As the name implies, a receptionist is a person with the task of receiving guests who come to the office or hotel. Even though the receptionist’s job may seem trivial at times, it’s actually a very important job. Because, a receptionist must act as the front and the first that guests will meet. Automatically, you must be able to be the “face” and the first representation of the office where you work.

If you are interested in working in this position, here are some of the duties and responsibilities of a receptionist.

  1. Receiving and welcoming guests
The main task of the receptionist is to receive and welcome guests. It sounds easy, but in fact there are many things that must be considered when receiving and welcoming guests. There are important responsibilities that you must carry out when guests first come to the office.

First, you must be able to direct guests where they need to go when they first enter the office building. Make eye contact with guests while giving a gesture that directs them to the reception desk. Second, you must greet guests with a smile, greeting, and greeting. This will make guests comfortable so as to create a good impression.

  1. Serve the needs of guests
After receiving and welcoming guests, the next task of the receptionist is to ensure that guests’ needs are properly accommodated. For the office receptionist, the responsibility in this task is to provide any information required by the guest.

For example, information about job vacancies, the location of certain rooms, acceptance of internships, and bringing guests together with employees who work in the office that the guest wants to meet. For hotel receptionists, their responsibilities include checking in and checking out guests.

  1. Receiving phone calls
Not only serving guests directly, the responsibility of the receptionist also relates to incoming calls intended for other divisions in the office. Because, all calls that enter the office will generally be directed to the reception before reaching the division you want to go to.

Therefore, as a receptionist, you must be able to answer the phone in a polite and friendly manner, provide the information guests need, forward phone calls to the designated division, and record the call in a simple administrative logbook.

  1. Perform simple administrative tasks
The receptionist job also requires you to be reliable in simple administrative matters related to reception activities, phone calls, as well as sending packages and letters.

Examples of simple administration that must be mastered by the receptionist are managing incoming files, incoming and outgoing calls, and making regular daily reports. You have to carry out this responsibility on the sidelines of receiving guests.

  1. Receive and forward packages/letters
Even though this package or letter can be received by the office security guard, it is the responsibility of the receptionist to forward the package and letter to the designated department or person who received the shipment.

The receptionist must double-check whether the delivery address is correct and also the name of the recipient of the package is the person who works in the office.

Because, not infrequently the address is correct, but the name of the person in the delivery does not work in the office. Therefore, the receptionist must confirm the name and address of the package. If everything is correct, then the package and letter can be directly given to the person in question.

It turns out that the receptionist’s job is not as easy as it looks, right? They are not only tasked with greeting and receiving guests, but also ensuring guests get the information they need and their needs are met. If you are planning to work in this field, we have prepared a receptionist job vacancy which is currently open in Dubai.
